かつて指宿が「東洋のハワイ」と呼ばれ、今も日常的にアロハシャツを着用する人が多いことを象徴するフラダンサーと、九州で最も大きな湖である池田湖を描きました。あしらいとして池田湖に存在すると言われている謎の怪獣・イッシーと、池田湖周辺に咲く指宿市の花・菜の花も添えています。
Ibusuki-shi was once called the “Hawaii of the Orient,” and even today many people still wear aloha shirts on a daily basis. This painting depicts a hula dancer, symbolizing the fact that Ibusuki-shi is now known as the “Hawaii of the Orient,” and Lake Ikeda, the largest lake in Kyushu. As decoration, it also features Issie, the mysterious monster said to exist in Lake Ikeda, and rape blossoms, the flower of Ibusuki-shi that bloom around Lake Ikeda.
